Skills and competences, Evidence of learning, Feedback, Action pansEngagement and learning in hybrid classrooms
The evaluation conducted with students involved in the HAVE Project pilot experiences highlights positive outcomes in terms of digital readiness, participation, and perceived learning effectiveness within Hybrid Classrooms.
The majority of students reported feeling comfortable using digital tools, demonstrating the ability to navigate platforms, access learning resources, and interact during synchronous and asynchronous sessions. This confirms the effectiveness of the support actions put in place during the implementation phase.
Key Findings from the Student Evaluation
1. High Engagement and Motivation
Students described the hybrid format as stimulating and engaging, particularly appreciating the flexibility to access lessons remotely while remaining connected to the classroom experience. The use of multimedia and interactive tools contributed to maintaining a high level of interest.
2. Learning Autonomy and Responsibility
A notable portion of students expressed that the hybrid model encouraged them to take greater responsibility for their learning path. The ability to review materials, manage their time, and work independently fostered skills related to self-regulated learning.
3. Digital Competence Development
Participation in Hybrid Classrooms also contributed to an improvement in students’ digital competences, particularly in areas such as communication, collaboration, and information management—core dimensions of the DigComp framework.
4. Challenges and Adaptation
While most students reacted positively, some highlighted initial difficulties in adapting to the hybrid mode, especially in managing attention and balancing on-site and online dynamics. These challenges were progressively mitigated through tutoring, peer support, and structured feedback activities.
Overall, the student evaluation underscores that the hybrid learning environment—when supported by appropriate pedagogical design and digital tools—can foster inclusive, personalized, and motivating experiences, supporting both engagement and competence development.
