One test of ENGIM was conducted in Turin, Italy, on February 1, 2024, the trial lasted three hours and involved 15 students and two instructors. The setup included notebooks, Meeting OWL, two SMART TVs, and Google Meet, with training materials sourced from online open-source resources.

The trial was part of a computer science course focused on cloud computing, aiming to evaluate and enhance students’ soft skills necessary for remote or hybrid work environments.

The trial highlighted several strengths, including the self-assessment of leadership and coordination skills, learning by doing, gamification, new learning methods, active listening, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines.

Student feedback was generally positive, with participants appreciating the opportunity to apply course competencies in a real situation, engage in teamwork and collaboration, simulate a real working scenario, and combine different ideas to find solutions. However, some challenges were noted, such as the difficulties of teamwork, the large number of students, and the need for more time.

The trial was was conducted by Francesca Carmagnola, Antonio Alessio Di Pinto, and Giuseppe Maggi,
