Conclusions from student feedback:

Basics: visibility and audibility

  • In training sessions, attention should be paid to the basics in teaching planning.
  • Practical skills teaching also requires videos from different angles, this can be done utilizing additional equipment such as smart glasses.

Fluency of teaching

  • Trainer’s digital confidence, not too complicated devices and applications.
    • The impact on how the student is able to concentrate on the teaching when the trainer has “the situation under control”.
    • It’s not about not being allowed to fail. It’s about how one is able to solve situations if any technical problems arise.

Students appreciate interactivity

  • Interaction between the trainer and students, as well as among students.
  • Examples of tools and methods that support interaction should be included in staff training sessions.
  • Attention should also be paid to how interaction can be technically supported, for example, by the placement of the conference camera etc.

Conclusions from trainers’ pilots:

  • Good planning and preparation
    • Scheduling and organizing the day’s activities are important
    • Helps to identify key content and focus on it
    • Device reliability
  • Guiding students during hybrid teaching
    • Students should be clearly informed about what is happening
    • Good student guidance and instructions ensures a smooth day
  • Engaging tools
    • By using various engaging methods, also those participating through Teams can be equally involved in the teaching
